abstract: Prosocial behavior is very important to possess as it is closely related to
daily life, which involves social interaction, that is, actions that have a positive
impact on others. However, in reality, not all prosocial behaviors emerge in
children, as evidenced by low empathy, difficulty cooperating, unwillingness to
share, etc. Prosocial behavior in children is influenced by several factors including
attachment and parenting styles. Therefore, children require secure attachment and
positive parenting for their prosocial behavior to develop optimally. This study aims
to determine the effect of attachment and dual-career family parenting both partially
and simultaneously on the prosocial behavior of preschool children at IT Salsabila
Al-Muthi’in Kindergarten.
The correlational quantitative research method is used in this study with a
non-probability sampling technique, which does not provide equal opportunities for
each member of the population. The number of samples is 80 parents as respondents
through purposive sampling who have dual career family criteria. The research
instrument for data collection using an online google form questionnaire that has
provided answer choices. Then the data analysis technique is multiple linear
regression with data from the Likert scale.
The results of this study indicate that: 1) Partially, attachment has a positive
and significant effect of 19.9% on the prosocial behavior of early childhood at TK
IT Salsabila Al-Muthi’in. 2) Family dual-career parenting also has a significant
effect of 10.5% on the prosocial behavior of early childhood at TK IT Salsabila Al-
Muthi’in. 3) Simultaneously, attachment and family dual-career parenting have a
significant effect (0.000 < 0.05) on the prosocial behavior of early childhood at TK
IT Salsabila Al-Muthi’in with a coefficient of determination of 30,4%.
