"This study focuses on identifying and exploring the values of\r\nPiil Pesenggikhi, which form the cultural identity of the indigenous\r\nLampung people, and how these values are taught to early childhood\r\nchildren through the learning processes facilitated by parents. The\r\nvalues of Piil Pesenggikhi are an essential part of the Lampung\r\npeople's culture and identity, encompassing concepts such as honor,\r\nself-respect, compassion, and etiquette in social life. Therefore, the\r\nmain objective of this study is to understand what constitutes the\r\ncultural identity of the Lampung people through an analysis of the Piil\r\nPesenggikhi values. It also aims to examine the parental learning\r\nprocesses involving these values to support the moral and socioemotional\r\ndevelopment of early childhood, as well as the efforts\r\nundertaken to preserve and revitalize Piil Pesenggikhi within the\r\nLampung community.\r\nThis research uses a qualitative method with a\r\nphenomenological approach. The study was conducted in the villages\r\nof Pardasuka, Tanjung Khusia, and Limau in Lampung. Data\r\ncollection techniques included in-depth interviews, participatory\r\nobservation, and document analysis. Interviews were conducted with\r\nparents, traditional leaders, and educators involved in the transmission\r\nof Piil Pesenggikhi values. Observations were carried out to\r\nunderstand parent-child interactions in everyday life, as well as\r\ncommunity participation in local cultural activities. The data analysis\r\nemployed Albert Bandura’s social learning theory, Lawrence\r\nKohlberg’s theory of moral development, Erik Erikson’s psychosocial\r\ntheory, along with other supporting theories. Subsequently, the data\r\nwere analyzed, generalized, presented, and concluded.\r\nThe results of the study show that Piil Pesenggikhi values play\r\na significant role in shaping cultural identity, moral character, and\r\npositive socio-emotional behavior. These values include concepts\r\nsuch as Juluk Adok (having a good name and being exemplary), Nemui\r\nNyimah (hospitality), Nengah Nyappur (social interaction), and Sakai\r\nSambayan (mutual assistance). Effective learning processes involve\r\nparental role modeling to foster habitual positive behaviors based on\r\nPiil Pesenggikhi values, as well as active community involvement in\r\nlocal cultural activities, such as traditional ceremonies, cultural\r\nfestivals, and participatory decision-making forums. Parents who\r\nactively teach these values through good communication, consistent\r\nmodeling, and habituation tend to raise children who are better able to\r\ninternalize and practice Piil Pesenggikhi values in their lives,\r\ncontributing to their moral and social development. This includes an\r\nintroduction to Lampung's traditional culture, empathy, emotional\r\nregulation, respect for others, proper behavior, and engagement in\r\ncaring activities for others. However, the study also identifies major\r\nchallenges faced by the Lampung community in preserving Piil\r\nPesenggikhi values. The influence of foreign cultures through mass\r\nmedia, social media, and information technology, along with\r\nurbanization that alters traditional lifestyles, poses a serious threat to\r\nthe sustainability of local cultural values. Therefore, efforts are needed\r\nto revitalize Piil Pesenggikhi values through family and communitybased\r\neducation. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a\r\nreference for parents, educators, the indigenous Lampung community,\r\nand local government in developing effective strategies to preserve\r\nand pass down noble cultural values to future generations, ensuring\r\ntheir continuity from one generation to the next"^^ .
