In 2022, cases of early marriage. Meanwhile, in the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Umbulharjo District,there were 10 recorded cases of early marriage. In this context, the approach of Islamic legal sociology is used to understand the social, cultural, and religious dynamic underlying the practice. This research is a library research supported by field research methods, using both normative and sociological approaches. The study was conducted based on data recorded in the official registry at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, in the year 2022. The data sources for this research include official document from the KUA Umbulharjo as well as interview result with Anas Yusuf, a civil servant at the KUA Umbulharjo Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques involved interviews with the resource person and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using a descriptiveanalytical approarch. Based on the results of this research, the high rate of early marriage is caused by several factors. Among them is the influence of free association, where teenagers who lack parental supervision and receive minimal religious education are more vulnerable to engaging in inappropriate relationships, which often lead to unwanted pregnancies. The economic factor also plays a significant role, especially in families with low economic conditions, where marrying off children at an early age is seen as a way to reduce the family's financial burden. The sociocultural factor is also influential, as early marriage is still considered normal or acceptable in some communities, particularly as a means to preserve family honor and avoid social disgrace. In addition, the personal willingness factor emerges due to the lack of education and understanding among adolescents about the importance of future planning, as well as limited knowledge about the psychological, health, and social %Z Yasin Baidi, S.Ag., M.Ag.
