        abstract = {Stand Up Comedy as a form of solo performance art has grown rapidly in Indonesia and has become a medium for expressing social criticism and personal anxieties in a creative way. Stand Up Comedy material, which requires originality, creativity, and technical skill in its development, holds significant potential to be protected as a copyrighted work under Law Number 28 of 2014 on Copyright.
This research aims to analyze the implementation of Stand Up Comedy material as an object of copyright protection and to evaluate the legal protection available to comedians against the unauthorized use of their material. The study employs a juridical-empirical method with a qualitative descriptive approach, examining normative provisions as well as copyright protection practices in Indonesia through case studies and interviews with relevant authorities.
The results indicate that Stand Up Comedy material meets the requirements to be recognized as a copyrighted work in the categories of literary works, performing arts, and scientific works. Legal protection can be carried out through both preventive and repressive measures to safeguard the moral and economic rights of comedians. However, in practice, comedians sometimes prefer to resolve copyright disputes through informal or familial approaches. This study is expected to enhance understanding of the importance of intellectual property rights in the entertainment industry and to encourage the development of more comprehensive regulations.}
