abstract: Jokowi's era officially ends on October 20, 2024. In the era of his reign for
approximately 2 periods, there were many demonstrations that occurred, especially
when talking about the context of lawmaking. This raises many suspicions and
questions, what is the real problem in the legislative process of the Jokowi
administration. So that there are many forms of rejection from academics and the
public regarding the laws passed, including the IKN Law, KPK Law, Minerba Law,
MD3 Law, and Constitutional Court Law. What exactly happened in the process of
forming laws and regulations.
In analyzing these legal phenomena and problems, this research applies a
qualitative method. The method of data collection is taken through literature study
(library research) related to the principles of legislation in Law 12 of 2011
concerning the Formation of Legislative Regulations with the law.
The results show that the influence of politics that is too dominant in the
process of forming legislation affects the quality of legislation. The more dominant
politics is, the lower the quality will be seen in the five laws. Then that too also
affects the principles of the formation of legislation that should be considered by the
legislator between the DPR and the Government in Article 7 paragraph (1) of Law
12 of 2011 regarding the principles that exist in the process of forming laws and
regulations.
