The phenomenon of cousin marriage is still found in Tegalarum Village, Borobudur Sub-district, Magelang Regency. There are four married couples in the village who are the result of cousin marriages. The persistence of this practice prompted the author to conduct research to identify and analyze the driving factors behind cousin marriage in Tegalarum Village and to examine it from the perspective of Islamic legal sociology. This study employed field research as its data collection method. A qualitative approach was used, with data obtained through literature studies and direct interviews with informants. The research is descriptive-analytical in nature, aiming to describe the object of study and then analyze it based on field data. The findings reveal four main factors contributing to cousin marriage in Tegalarum Village: arranged marriage, lineage, love, and wealth. These factors are interrelated and form the foundation for the occurrence of cousin marriages in the area. From the perspective of Islamic legal sociology, there is no explicit provision that declares cousin marriage as either prohibited or permissible. Generally, such marriages are allowed as long as they do not contradict the provisions of the Qur'an in Surah An-Nis{\=a}? (4): 23 and Surah Al-A{\d h}z{\=a}b (33): 50.} }
