Brizzi offers convenience in transactions without requiring additional authorization such as a PIN. However, behind this convenience lies a significant risk when the card is lost or stolen, as there is no balance protection system or refund mechanism for consumers. This raises the issue of how far legal protection is provided to Brizzi users as consumers. This research aims to analyze the legal protection of consumers using Brizzi electronic money based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK), preventive legal protection, and the principle of Maqaṣid asy-Syarī‘ah, particularly Hifz al-Mal (protection of wealth). The research method used is field research with a normative juridical and qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The theoretical framework is based on consumer protection theory and the principles of maqaṣid syarī‘ah as analytical instruments to assess legal protection in electronic financial transactions. The findings show that legal protection for Brizzi users is still inadequate, both normatively under UUPK and in principle according to maqaṣid syarī‘ah values. Brizzi's issuer has not provided a sufficient balance security system to mitigate the risk of lost cards. From a sharia perspective, Brizzi does not fully meet the principle of Hifz al-Mal due to the lack of guaranteed protection of user funds. Therefore, enhanced preventive measures, stricter regulation, and increased consumer education are needed to ensure consumer rights in the use of electronic money date: 2025-03-03 date_type: published pages: 170 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SYARIAH DAN HUKUM thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Adzkia Humaira, NIM.: 21103080039 (2025) PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM TERHADAP KONSUMEN PENGGUNA UANG ELEKTRONIK (E-MONEY) (PADA MAHASISWA PENGGUNA PRODUK BRIZZI BRI DI FAKULTAS SYARIAH DAN HUKUM UNIVERSITAS ISLAM NEGERI SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA).
