        abstract = {The book Bulugh al-Maram min Adillati Al-Ahkam is a book by Ibn H\{ajar al-?Asqalani which contains hadiths of fiqh which are used as the main reference by the fuqaha? in taking fiqh laws. Therefore, there needs to be a book that provides explanations so that the meaning of the hadiths in the book Bulugh al-Maram is conveyed correctly. One of the explanation books is the book Tawdhihul Ahkam min Bulugh Al-Maram by ?Abdullah bin ?Abdurrahman Al-Bassam. This research is a qualitative research, with the object of study being library research. The primary data used is the book Tawdhihul Ahkam, while secondary data is in the form of books, articles, and journals from previous research that already exist. This research focuses on; 1) What is the background of ?Abdullah bin ?Abdurrahman Al-Bassam in commenting on the book Bulugh al-Maram min Adillati Al-Ahkam. 2) What is the method of commenting on the hadith of ?Abdullah bin ?Abdurrahman Al-Bassam in the book Tawdhihul Ahkam min Bulugh Al-Maram.
The results of this study are that the background of Al-Bassam in writing this commentary book is to meet the intellectual needs of the reader and adjust the explanation to the socio-cultural context of the hadith, so that it is more relevant in life. In addition, there are two main factors that encourage its writing, namely the success of the previous book, namely Taisir al-?Allam, and the lack of systematics in the existing Bulugh al-Maram commentary book, so that he felt the need to compile a more orderly commentary and in accordance with the teaching methods in Islamic educational institutions.
The sharah method in the book Tawdhihul Ahkam, Al-Bassam predominantly uses the tahlili sharah method, but he also uses the ijmali sharah method. The sharah approach used is language, sociology and law approaches. In the language approach, Al-Bassam explains in detail difficult vocabulary, explains Nahwu Sharraf's language rules, and refers to verses from the Koran to strengthen the meaning contained in the hadith. And in the sociological approach, for several relevant hadith. Apart from that, Al-Bassam also uses a legal approach, because basically the book being narrated is hadiths about jurisprudence law.}
