The phenomenon is that many adolescents have difficulty building their self-confidence, so many of them experience problems such as fear of appearing in public, not daring to express opinions, and even withdrawing from the social environment. Theoretically, family economic conditions play a role in providing emotional support and facilities that support the development of student confidence. This study aims to determine the relationship between family socioeconomic status and self-confidence of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 49 Central Maluku. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational approach that aims to determine the relationship of the independent variable to the dependent variable by taking a sample of 86 out of 109 populations conducted by simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis with the help of JASP for windows software application. The results of the analysis show that it fails to accept H0, meaning that there is a positive and significant relationship between family socioeconomic status and self-confidence of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 49 Central Maluku with a correlation coefficient of 0.495, indicating that it is at the level of a strong and highly significant relationship with a p value = 0.000 <0.01 which means that the high socioeconomic status score will be followed by a high self-confidence score, as well as a high self-confidence score %Z Slamet, S.Ag., M.Si.
