abstract: The empowerment of individuals with disabilities through the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Mart program in Mallari Village, Bone Regency, is a strategic effort to improve the quality of life for marginalized disability groups in terms of access to education, employment, and social services. This study aims to explore the forms of disability empowerment carried out through BUMDes Mart, the role of stakeholders in the empowerment process, and the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis.
The research findings indicate that BUMDes Mart provides skills training in the production of decorative sandals and recycled bags, which not only enhances the technical abilities but also boosts the confidence of people with disabilities. Support from local government, village government in the form of activity funding, encouragement from families, and active participation from an inclusive community are the main supporting factors. However, challenges in product marketing and a lack of business diversification pose significant obstacles. This research is expected to provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of disability empowerment programs and create a more inclusive and prosperous society.
