However, data from BUS ROA shows that BUS is more resistant to economic shocks compared to conventional commercial banks. This study aims to examine the effect of capital structure, liquidity risk, credit risk, and operational efficiency on BUS profitability for the 2018-2023 period. This study uses secondary data and panel data regression analysis for testing. The results are that capital structure as measured by DAR and CAR, liquidity risk as measured by FDR has a positive and significant effect on BUS profitability. While NPF as a proxy for credit risk has a negative and insignificant effect on BUS profitability. In addition, operational efficiency as measured by BOPO has a negative and significant effect on BUS profitability.
