Based on the study results, self-criticism and religiosity are important factors related to academic anxiety experienced by students. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-criticism and religiosity with academic anxiety in students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The research method used is quantitative correlational. The sample in this study were undergraduate students (S1) of Faculty X and Faculty Y of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, where sampling used quota sampling technique. The number of samples in the study was 174 students. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that simultaneously there was a relationship between self-criticism and religiosity with academic anxiety (sig. <0.001) and provided an effective contribution of 32.3%. In addition, partially there was a positive relationship between self-criticism and academic anxiety (sig. <0.001) and provided an effective contribution of 31.9%. And partially there is no relationship between religiosity and academic anxiety (sig.>0.001) and provides an effective contribution of only 0.609%. Thus, it is expected for students not to do excessive self-criticism, and can internalize religious values as a supporter in order to avoid symptoms of high academic anxiety.
