Mosque loudspeakers as one of the conventional media are still used especially by rural communities and communities dominated by the elderly where they are not familiar with new technology. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The analysis was conducted using the theory of communication media use by Lometti, Reeves, and Bybee and the data needed in this study were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings in this study state that in the current era of modernization, loudspeakers at the Al-Huda Mosque are still used to disseminate information both religious and social information, such as amplifying the sound of the azan, announcing obituaries, recitation schedules, and mutual cooperation. Even the use of loudspeakers at Al-Huda Mosque in disseminating religious information has increased during the month of Ramadan, namely 248 uses or an increase of 90 times. Not only that, in this political year of 2024, Al-Huda Mosque loudspeakers were chosen to disseminate information related to PILKADA. This research highlights how mosque loudspeakers, as a traditional communication medium, are able to adapt and maintain their great potential in disseminating information in the midst of new media disruption. In fact, its use has increased at certain moments and is trusted to be used in disseminating political information. This research will further explain why mosque loudspeakers still survive and explore the factors that make mosque loudspeakers still relevant to be used to disseminate information %Z Ihya’ Ulumuddin, M.Sos.
