To be able to read the Qur'an properly, one must understand how to read Arabic script, as the language of the Qur'an is essentially Arabic. The findings of this research indicate that understanding Arabic helps students comprehend the meaning of the verses, thereby facilitating the memorization process and enhancing their memory retention. The results show that the greater the mastery of Arabic vocabulary, the more likely students are to memorize the Qur’an fluently and effectively. This study aims to examine the relationship between Arabic vocabulary mastery and the Qur’an memorization ability of students in the Umar bin Khattab Dormitory at Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This is a field-research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study consisted of 35 students residing in the Umar bin Khattab Dormitory. The research involved a total sampling of all 35 students. Primary data were collected using Arabic vocabulary mastery and Qur’an memorization ability scales. Secondary data were obtained through observation and documentation. The prerequisite tests for analysis included validity, reliability, normality, and linearity tests. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis.
