description: General Elections (Pemilu) in Indonesia, which are regulated in the Constitution and Law Number 7 of 2017, are an important means to realize the sovereignty of the people and to elect representatives and leaders of the country democratically. Comprehensive supervision of all stages of the Election is essential to ensure honest, fair, and transparent implementation. The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) has a key role in this process, but Bawaslu Kebumen faces various challenges, including the lack of response to reports of violations and the low number of reports received. The many practices of money politics that are not touched by Bawaslu, the still low political and legal awareness in the community regarding the Election and money politics, people who are afraid to report because of the potential for threats and also the culture of money politics in every Election that has not been resolved, coupled with the politicization of religion for the sake of candidacy are also problems that need to be criticized and need to be resolved. Therefore, Bawaslu needs to increase community participation in supervision, build awareness of the dangers of money politics practices, and strengthen collaboration with various elements of society. With these steps, it is hoped that the upcoming election can run better and create a democratic government in accordance with national ideals.  This study uses a descriptive field research type. The research approach with legal sociology or socio-legal is a method that combines legal analysis with a social perspective to understand the interaction between law and society. This approach focuses on how law functions in a social context, and how social norms influence the formation and application of law. This study uses the Theory of Legal Effectiveness and the Theory of Supervision.  The results of this study are that Bawaslu Kebumen implements prevention efforts and also uses a participatory supervision system. Then, Bawaslu Kebumen has also played a sufficient role in society in accordance with what is ordered by law. Furthermore, regarding the effectiveness of Bawaslu as measured by parameters from Soerjono Soekanto, it resulted in the conclusion that Bawaslu Kebumen was not effective enough in its implementation. Of the 5 available parameters, only 1 has the requirements met, making the conclusion that Bawaslu Kebumen was not effective enough in carrying out supervision.
