"The phenomenon of wives working outside the home has increased in line\r\nwith growing awareness of gender equality. However, this condition often brings\r\nchallenges such as the double burden and social stigma attached to women who\r\nare active in the public sphere. In Islamic teachings, while the obligation to\r\nprovide for the family lies with men, women are still given space to contribute\r\neconomically as long as it does not violate the principles of sharia. This\r\nphenomenon is important to examine further, especially through a fair and genderjust\r\napproach.\r\nThis study aims to explore the perspectives of the caregivers at Pondok\r\nPesantren Krapyak Yogyakarta on the phenomenon of working wives and to\r\nanalyze it using the Qira’ah Mubadalah approach. This research is a field study\r\nwith a normative approach and descriptive-analytical nature. Data collection\r\ntechniques include in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation.\r\nThe data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which\r\ninvolves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.\r\nThe findings show that the caregivers at Pondok Pesantren Krapyak\r\ngenerally support women working outside the home, provided that they have their\r\nhusband’s permission or mutual agreement, adhere to Islamic ethics, and continue\r\nto fulfill their domestic roles. This perspective aligns with the principles of\r\nQira’ah Mubadalah, which emphasize reciprocity and justice in the husband-wife\r\nrelationship. From the Mubadalah perspective, working is not seen as a violation\r\nof a woman’s nature but rather as a contribution to the family’s and society’s wellbeing.\r\nTherefore, a woman’s decision to work should be understood as a result of\r\nmutual consultation and shared responsibilities within the household, not as a\r\nbreach of religious norms."^^ .
