However, this procedure raises ethical, social, and legal questions in Islamic perspectives, particularly regarding lineage clarity, medical risks, and compliance with sharia principles. This study examines the views of ustaz (Islamic scholars) from Pondok Pesantren Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta, a religious institution blending traditional and modern approaches. The core issues include the Islamic legality of uterine transplantation according to the ustaz and its analysis through the lens of maq??id asy-syar?'ah. This research is a descriptive-analytical field research. The data was collected by interviewing five ustaz of Wahid Islamic Boarding School Yogyakarta who are experts in fiqh and u??l al-fiqh. The data obtained is then analyzed qualitatively using the inductive method which then draws conclusions with with a normative approach, namely slamic law from the perspective of maq??id asy-syar??ah. The findings reveal divergent views among the ustaz. Some permit uterine transplantation under strict conditions, such as lineage clarity and minimal medical risks, while others reject it due to potential legal ambiguities and financial waste. The maq??id asy-syar?'ah analysis categorizes uterine transplantation as a secondary need (??jiyyah), permissible if benefits outweigh harms. However, high risks to life and lineage remain critical considerations for restricting the practice. This study contributes academically to medical jurisprudence and offers practical guidance for Muslim communities.
