N2  - Realizing a harmonious family is the desire of every couple who has sailed the ship of marriage, but to realize it is not easy. In community life, families with low incomes are considered difficult to realize a harmonious family, because economic factors cannot meet daily living needs, such as the rice farmer family in Kersan Village, Timbulharjo, Sewon, Bantul. But in reality, they can succeed in realizing a harmonious family in their own way according to their hopes. Kersan Village is a village that has a good level of independence, because even though the majority of the population, as much as 10%, work as rice farmers, they can develop and are able to process food reserves from the results they get for the benefit of their household life. In addition, the village is also a village that has succeeded in realizing a harmonious family in the midst of a low economy. Therefore, the main problem in this study is how the efforts of rice farmer couples to form a harmonious family and how the Islamic law review of the efforts of rice farmer families to form a harmonious family, whether it is in accordance with Islamic law or not.
This research is a field research, namely research conducted in Kersan Village, Timbulharjo, Sewon District, Bantul Regency. This research is descriptive analytical. The approach used is the normative approach. Data collection is done by interviews and documentation. The results of the interviews are then analyzed qualitatively with the inductive method so that conclusions can be drawn.
The results of the study that the author obtained from the family of a rice farmer couple showed that the efforts made to form a harmonious family include; mutual respect, mutual trust, practicing Islamic teachings, mutual compromise and understanding, and always prioritizing deliberation to resolve problems in the family.
