"Tradition is something that is already embedded in the lives of the community so that it is difficult to change. One of these traditions is the tradition of manten mubeng gapura in Loram Kulon Village, Kudus Regency. This tradition is carried out when someone gets married in Loram Kulon Village, with the belief that if they do not carry out this tradition, it can bring disaster or calamity to the household.\r\nThis study uses a sociological approach, using the theory of receptie a contrario initiated by Hazairin and developed by Sajuti Thalib and Max Weber's theory of social action. The method used in this study is field research using descriptive-analytic research methods. The data collection technique used is to use systematic interviews with the people of Loram Kulon Village and is equipped with documentation. After the data is collected, it will then be classified and analyzed, which identifies the community's understanding of the manten mubeng gapura tradition, factors or reasons for the community to accept and reject the tradition.\r\nThe results of this study indicate that the people of Loram Kulon Village accept and preserve the tradition because it is considered a part of the culture that does not deviate from Islamic teachings, and contains positive symbolic and social values. The mubeng gapura tradition functions more as a symbol of cultural customs that strengthens the identity of a community than a determining factor in the continuation of a marriage. This tradition remains important in a cultural context, although it does not have a significant influence on the validity of a marriage. Therefore, this tradition can be said to be limited to preserving the cultural values of ancestors. However, this tradition indirectly provides benefits to the continuation of marriages in the Loram Kulon community itself, even providing benefits in social factors. The existence of the mubeng gapura tradition in society reflects the harmony between cultural values and Islamic teachings. There is an understanding of the community regarding whether or not to carry out the tradition. The understanding of the community that accepts and carries out this tradition as an effort to preserve tradition, hopes for the blessing of this tradition, still adheres to parents or elders, and still believes in myths. Meanwhile, there are several reasons for people who do not carry it out, namely that the community does not believe in tradition and the community is outside the city so they cannot carry out the tradition due to geographical distance constraints."^^ .
