%X In the fiqh of munakahat, it has been mentioned in detail about the procession after the marriage contract, namely the walimah procession. However, the people of Ngemplak Hamlet have a different order, where the procession after marriage contract is to carry out the tradition of Mubeng Makam Talang Paten. Therefore, the outhor wants to trace the factors that led to the emergence of the tradition and what factors make the people of Ngemplak Hamlet still carry it out.
This research is a field research conducted in Ngemplak Hamlet, Caturharjo Village, Sleman District with data collection methods using interview,observation, and documentation techniques. The nature of the research used is descriptive-analytical, namely the author presents a picture of a phenomenon based on accurate data obtained from the field regarding the tradition of Mubeng Makam Talang Paten. The theory used to analyze this research is the universal cultural theory and is analyzed qualitatively with a deductive approach.
The tradition of Mubeng Makam Talng Paten is carried out by the bride and groom after the marriage contract by going around the graves of Mbah Kyai dan Nyai Talangpati who are considered the forerunners in Ngemplak Hamlet. Some of the factors that cause the community to still implement the customary law to this day are the existence of belief, cultural preservation, and the role community leaders. As the factors that cause the emergence of these traditions, there are several factors that influence, namely, religious elements (beliefs), knowledge elements, and artistic elements.
