"Village autonomy is the right, authority, and obligation of a village to\r\nmanage its own governmental affairs and the interests of its local community, based\r\non the customary rights and traditions prevalent in that village. Nagari Tiumang\r\nhas a population composed of various ethnic groups, and the presence of\r\nindigenous ethnic groups provides an opportunity to study how village autonomy\r\ncan be implemented while considering local values and wisdom. Nagari Tiumang\r\nis also a destination for transmigration from Java, which adds to the social and\r\ncultural complexity of the area. With village autonomy, it is hoped that the village\r\ncan be more responsive to the needs of its residents and able to develop local\r\npotential optimally. This study focuses on the implementation of village autonomy\r\nin Nagari Tiumang, with an emphasis on infrastructure development, public\r\nservices, and financial management, as well as a review of constitutional political\r\ntheory.\r\nThis research is a type of empirical legal research, the research method used\r\nis qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data is collected\r\nthrough field research and interviews, which provide a direct picture of the\r\nimplementation of nagari governance. Data sources include information from the\r\nimplementation of village autonomy obtained from interactions with the community\r\nand local officials.\r\nThe results of the study indicate that the implementation of village autonomy\r\nin Nagari Tiumang has been quite effective, with the Wali Nagari (village head)\r\nhaving flexibility in decision-making and budget management. Increased\r\ncommunity participation in the development process is evident from their active\r\ninvolvement in deliberations and decision-making. However, this study also\r\nidentifies several challenges, such as delays in the disbursement of the Regional\r\nRevenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) funds and a lack of public understanding\r\nof the requirements for public services. From the perspective of Siyasah Dusturiyah,\r\nthis study emphasizes the importance of the principles of social justice,\r\naccountability, and transparency in the management of village autonomy. Village\r\nautonomy in Nagari Tiumang can serve as a model for the implementation of good\r\ngovernance principles, provided that existing challenges are addressed through\r\neffective collaboration between the government and the community.
