"Indonesia is a nation rich in cultural diversity and traditions that thrive within its society. Many of these cultural and traditional practices are influenced by the blend of various beliefs and religious values. Over time, the relationship between religious values, particularly Islam, and societal traditions has become increasingly intertwined. One example is the tradition of reciting shalawat Maulid Diba' at Pondok Pesantren Tahsinul Akhlak. This study aims to explore the concept of living hadis within the tradition of reciting shalawat Maulid Diba' at Pondok Pesantren Tahsinul Akhlak, Blitar Regency. Additionally, it seeks to examine the reception of hadiths regarding the virtues and recommendations of sending shalawat, particularly as it relates to the tradition practiced at this pesantren.\r\nThe research employs a field research method with a descriptive and qualitative approach. The research process involves describing an object, phenomenon, or social condition narratively. Data sources include primary and secondary data. Primary data are collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while secondary data encompass documents related to the pesantren's profile, the founder’s biography, academic works, books, journals, and other relevant writings.\r\nThe study reveals two main findings. First, the tradition of reciting shalawat Maulid Diba' at Pondok Pesantren Tahsinul Akhlak originated from the experience of K.H. Mukhroji Azhar during his time as a student at Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Ploso. He found joy, comfort, and tranquility in reciting shalawat and introduced this practice to his students as a continuation of his teachers' teachings and as an effort to enhance worship through shalawat. This tradition is grounded in the understanding of the pesantren’s leaders and administrators regarding Surah Al-Ahzab verse 56 and hadiths emphasizing the virtues and recommendations of sending shalawat. The tradition begins with the recitation of Yasin, Tahlil, and Shalawat Jibril, followed by the recitation of Maulid ad-Diba’i. All students actively participate as guides and facilitators, in line with the Tariqah Ta'lim wa Ta'allum method. This method aims to train students’ mental resilience, instill discipline, strengthen religious values, and prepare them for community life.\r\nSecond, the tradition of reciting shalawat Maulid Diba' reflects the interaction between the readers (pesantren leaders and administrators) and the hadith texts regarding the virtues and recommendations of sending shalawat. Using Wolfgang Iser's aesthetic reception theory and the concept of the implicit reader, the study finds that readers play a significant role in bringing the text to life by filling the \"gaps\" within it. The pesantren leaders and administrators interpret the hadith texts to mean that frequent recitation of shalawat fosters unity, enhances the students' quality of worship, seeks Allah's rewards and mercy, and strengthens love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Ultimately, this practice actualizes the understanding of the hadith’s message through the tradition of reciting shalawat Maulid Diba'. The study also highlights that the meaning of hadith texts is dynamic and influenced by the readers' experiences and social backgrounds, emphasizing the active role of readers in interpreting religious texts, particularly those concerning the virtues and recommendations of sending shalawat."^^ .
