This fatwa was issued in response to Israel‟s ongoing aggression that has triggered humanitarian crises and violated principles of justice and human rights. This study aims to examine the legal considerations underlying the fatwa and analyze to what extent its substance aligns with the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharī„ah) from the perspective of Jasser Auda. This research is a library study using a normative Islamic legal approach and a philosophical framework. The method used is descriptive-analytical, with primary data derived from Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 and secondary sources from supporting literature. The theoretical framework is based on Jasser Auda‟s concept of maqāṣid al-sharī„ah, which views Islamic legal objectives through a holistic and dynamic system. This approach is used to assess the relevance of the fatwa‟s boycott provision in relation to principles of justice, public welfare, and ethical consumer behavior. The findings show that Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 is consistent with the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī„ah, particularly in preserving religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl), and the dignity of the Muslim community. The fatwa prohibits all forms of support, both direct and indirect for Israel, including economic transactions, while encouraging alternative forms of support that comply with Islamic principles. From Jasser Auda‟s perspective, the fatwa reflects a dynamic, responsive, and contextual approach to Islamic law, fulfilling public interests across the levels of ḍarūriyyāt (essentials), ḥājiyyāt (complementary needs), and taḥsīniyyāt (enhancements). The fatwa serves not only as a religious response but also as an ethical and strategic call for social justice and global solidarity. date: 2025-06-19 date_type: published pages: 171 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SYARI’AH DAN HUKUM thesis_type: masters thesis_name: other citation: Kiki Nurul Komaria, S.H., NIM.: 23203011144 (2025) SERUAN BOIKOT TERHADAP PRODUK YANG TERAFILIASI DENGAN ISRAEL (ANALISIS FATWA MUI NO. 83 TAHUN 2023 TENTANG HUKUM DUKUNGAN TERHADAP PERJUANGAN PALESTINA).
