This Islamic method is classified as conservative because the techniques must be carried out in accordance with the sharia. As time goes by, digital technology emerges with the main purpose of simplifying human activities. Including the taaruf process, it can now be carried out using digital technology which is implemented in the form of social media. The taaruf\_nikah Instagram account is an example of a renewed way of taaruf because it is collaborated with social media. The online taaruf process causes changes in the behavior of life partner seekers which can be indicated through the emergence of new behaviors as they move in a new world. New behaviors arise against the background and are driven by motives and factors. This research uses Selo Soemardjan's theory of social change, which discusses the changes in people's social lives and the factors that motivate and encourage them. Based on this theory, social change comes from changes in social institutions that can affect the social system of society, including values, attitudes, and behavior patterns. Virtual society theory is also used to understand the subject as the name suggests. An important discussion in this theory is about the meaning of virtual society and the pillars of digital literacy as their foundation to behave well in the virtual world. This research uses a type of qualitative research with the netnography method. A special action is taken to conduct participatory research on Instagram social media, specifically the taaruf\_nikah account. The research data was collected using participant observation techniques on the object of study, free interviews with three life partner seekers as informants, and documentation in the form of screenshots of activities that occur in the object and subject of study. Primary data obtained from interviews were reduced to produce solid data, then analyzed using the theory of social change, and concluded to get solid results at the end of the thesis discussion. The results show that there are several motives that come from within each life partner seeker, then driven by external factors that come from the realm of technology and the surrounding community to be able to bring up new behaviors in online life partner seekers. The three new behaviors that emerged were confidence with indirect communication, keeping the taaruf process secret, and wanting to find a partner quickly. If these motives are collaborated with the four pillars of digital literacy, it will lead to new behaviors that have a good impact on the online taaruf process, and vice versa. There are also four types of factors, namely the main, accompanying, accelerating, and inhibiting factors that can affect the continuity of the online taaruf process.} }
