"Kitab Arba'in Nawawiyah by Abu Zakariyah Yahya bin Syaraf an-Nawawi is one of the secondary hadith books that has received great attention from scholars, especially in the form of commentary works. The book has had a profound influence on Islamic scholarship from time to time as it contains a collection of selected traditions, the majority of which are concise but cover the main points of Islamic teachings. The strength of this book is reflected in the number of scholars, both from the Middle East and Indonesia, who have provided commentaries on it. This shows the importance of Arba'in Nawawiyah in the study of hadith and Islamic studies in general. One of the books that provide commentaries on the book of Arba'in. In the muqaddimah he writes his concern that the books that comment on Arba'in Nawawiyah are usually relatively long or very short. This became his reason for writing a book of commentary on Arba'in Nawawiyah that is intermediate — not long but comprehensive.\r\n\r\nThis study aims to examine the method used by Abdul Muhsin bin Hamad Al-Abbad Al-Badr in narrating the book of Arba'in Nawawiyah. On the other hand, the researcher also aims to analyze what approach and style of syarah are used in the Fath al-Qawi al-Matin syarah book that comments on Arba'in Nawawiyah by Abu Zakariyah Yahya bin Syaraf an-Nawawi.\r\n\r\nThe research method used is a type of qualitative research, which uses literature studies or what is commonly called library research. The data processing system in this research uses analytical-descriptive. In collecting data, researchers used the book Fath al-Qawiyyil Matin fi Syarhil Arba'ina wa Tatimmah al-Khamsina lin Nawawi wa Ibni Rajab as a primary source. While secondary sources in this study are several books and articles that have a correlation with this research.\r\n\r\nThe researcher concluded that the method of hadith commentary used by Abdul Muhsin bin Hamad Al-Abbad Al-Badr in writing the book Fath al-Qawiyyil Matin fi Syarhil Arba'ina wa Tatimmah al-Khamsina lin Nawawi wa Ibni Rajab is the use of the tahlili (detailed) method. The researcher came to this conclusion because Abdul Muhsin, in his explanation, elaborates on the differences in the lafaz or diction of the hadith, explains them word by word, uses verses of the Qur'an or other traditions in explanation, and refers to or quotes other scholars in giving his syarah. Abdul Muhsin also uses several approaches in his book, including the linguistic approach, the legal approach (fiqh), and the historical approach.\r\n\r\nAs for the style of explanation used by Fath al-Qawiyyil Matin, it employs the style of syarh bi al-ma'tsur. This is based on the majority of Abdul Muhsin's narration by quoting several opinions of previous scholars such as Ibn Rajab, Imam al-Shafi'i, Imam al-Nawawi, Ibn Hajar, Ibn Daqiq al-Id, and Ibn Kathir."^^ .
