This study aims to examine the role and impact of student organizations in improving the academic, social, and spiritual competence of PAI students, as well as analyzing strategies to optimize this role in the midst of the development of the digital era. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The data validity test in this study uses triangulation. The results showed that student organizations are very instrumental in improving the competence of PAI students, but increasing student competence does not only depend on the role of student organizations, but also lies in the level of awareness, seriousness, and clear orientation towards self-development. Second, student organizations have an impact in improving the competence of PAI students through various activities. However, the impact of student participation in the organization is not uniform, because of the different forms of student involvement itself. First, active as a whole (academic, social, and spiritual), second active in the academic realm, and last active in spiritual activities. In addition, in optimizing the role of student organizations, there are three strategies: first, internal strategies by formulating the grand design of the organization, resource management, leadership development, and strengthening the organizational management system. Second, external strategies by collaborating, utilizing technology, and developing work programs. The last is the evaluation strategy.} }
