This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The informant selection technique was carried out by combining purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. While the data analysis technique in this research goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and making a conclusion. To test the credibility of the data, extended observation, increased persistence, triangulation and member check were carried out. The results of this study show, how the librarians motivate students to learn, namely through an active, adaptive, and student needs-oriented approach. The ways that librarians do are not only related to collection management and technical services, but also include educational, social, and emotional aspects that support the learning process of students as a whole. There are eight ways that librarians at SD Muhammadiyah Kleco 1 Kotagede Yogyakarta apply to motivate students to learn, facilitate class assignments, and try to build informal communication with teachers. (1) Providing freedom in choosing learning materials. (2) Providing guidance in making independent learning decisions. (3) Involving students in library development. (4) Librarians provide information literacy guidance. (5) Assistance in dealing with learning difficulties. (6) Developing students' critical thinking skills. (7) Providing a friendly and supportive library environment. (8) Development of collaborative activities for strengthening social interaction. The obstacles faced by librarians in motivating students to learn at SD Muhammadiyah Kleco 1 Kotagede reflect overall challenges, lack of interest in reading, limited book collections, inconsistent library visit schedules. Efforts made by librarians to organize activities such as reading together, storytelling, and giving gifts or praise to students who diligently borrow books. Librarians make efforts by collaborating with DPK through a mobile library program that comes regularly to schools, besides that librarians also apply for funds to the school for the procurement of new books.
