Muhsin Kalida, S.Ag., M.A, M.Pd abstract: Phenomenon of individuals with cerebral palsy who experience motor impairments due to brain damage occurring before or during birth. These impairments affect motor control, body coordination, and can hinder physical development as well as daily activities, often resulting in low self efficacy. One such case is found among individuals with cerebral palsy residing at Panti III Yayasan Sayap Ibu Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the individual guidance strategies implemented by social workers to improve the self efficacy of individuals with cerebral palsy in this institution. This study uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach. The research subject is a social worker, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validation was conducted using source triangulation, and the data analysis techniques involved data reduction, analysis, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the individual guidance strategies applied by social workers at Panti III Yayasan Sayap Ibu Yogyakarta have proven effective in improving the self efficacy of individuals with cerebral palsy. This was achieved primarily through empathetic, interest based approaches involving activities such as mechanics, art, and photography, which encouraged a shift from social withdrawal to active engagement and self confidence. These techniques were more impactful than verbal motivation or evaluation without personal engagement, as they incorporated affirmation, role empowerment, and contextual daily observation. The changes observed in BS and DS affirm the success of empathetic and interest based individual guidance strategies, where direct involvement proved far more effective than verbal motivation alone. Affirmation and role empowerment helped foster a sense of competence and self worth, while the success of the intervention strongly relied on strategic relevance, empathetic consistency, and appreciation of small achievements that gradually strengthened self confidence.
