"Udapi Hilir Village is a transmigrant settlement located in West Papua. The\r\nutilization of medicinal plants remains a well-preserved tradition among the local\r\ncommunity. A portion of the ethnobotanical knowledge is inherited from the\r\nmigrants' places of origin, while another portion is acquired from the traditional\r\nknowledge of the indigenous Papuan communities. However, documentation of this\r\nknowledge remains limited, thereby necessitating systematic research. This study\r\naims to document and analyze the diversity of medicinal plant species, the plant\r\nparts utilized, methods of preparation and administration, modes of acquisition,\r\ntherapeutic uses, use values, and fidelity levels. Data collection was carried out\r\nthrough in-depth interviews with 65 respondents, using open-ended questionnaires\r\ndesigned to align with the research objectives. Respondents were selected using the\r\nsnowball sampling technique. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and\r\nquantitative descriptive methods. The findings revealed a total of 73 medicinal plant\r\nspecies belonging to 39 families. The family Zingiberaceae represented the highest\r\nusage frequency (11%). Herbaceous plants constituted the most common growth\r\nform (37%). The most frequently used plant part was the leaf (38%), and the\r\npredominant method of preparation was decoction (64%). The most common route\r\nof administration was oral consumption (69%). The majority of plants were sourced\r\nfrom home gardens (66%). The most frequently cited therapeutic use was to\r\nenhance immune function (16%). Species with the highest use value (0.09) were\r\nsoursop (Annona muricata L.), kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.), coconut (Cocos\r\nnucifera L.), and moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) . Plants with the highest Fidelity\r\nLevel (100%) included turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), mahkota dewa (Phaleria\r\nmacrocarpa), areca nut (Areca catechu L.), and betel (Piper betle L.). To ensure\r\nthe sustainability of medicinal plant resources, the community of Udapi Hilir\r\nVillage engages in various conservation practices, including the cultivation of\r\nspecies amenable to domestication, preservation of natural habitats, and\r\nimplementation of regulated harvesting schedules for species that are difficult to\r\ncultivate."^^ .
