This study aims to examine the effect of exposure to the film Siksa Kubur on students' perceptions of torment in the grave (siksa kubur). The main research question is: to what extent does exposure to the film influence perception compared to those who are not exposed? Using the Cultivation Theory as the theoretical framework, this study adopts a quantitative experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The respondents consisted of 106 students from the 2021 cohort of the Communication Science Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with independent sample t-tests. The results showed a significant difference in perception between the two groups, particularly in the indicators of experience, motivation, and personality. This indicates that film exposure can shape religious perceptions, supporting the assumption that media use produces cognitive and emotional effects on audiences.
