abstract: The Blue Garuda symbol has become an icon that has captured public attention amidst Indonesia's democratic emergency. In the digital era, social media plays a crucial role in conveying criticism of political conditions. This study aims to analyze the meaning of the blue garuda symbol in posts on the Instagram account @matanajwa. This research is motivated by the lack of studies specifically examining the construction of the blue garuda symbol in social media, although this symbol has been used in several political narratives. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis and social constructivism theory. Data are analyzed through three layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The results of this study indicate that the symbols and narratives in the posts are not only communication tools but also powerful critiques of deviations from democracy. Within the myth layer, two things are found: the formation of a counter-myth as a critique and a noble attitude in democracy. Through a social constructivist perspective, this post calls for public engagement and critical thinking. This research confirms that symbols and narratives in social media can be powerful tools of resistance
