%T PROSES PENERIMAAN DIRI PADA PEREMPUAN DEWASA YANG MENGALAMI KEKERASAN SEKSUAL KETIKA REMAJA
%X This study aims to explore the process of self-acceptance in adult women who experienced sexual
violence during childhood in Yogyakarta. The research employs a qualitative approach using the
phenomenological method to understand the subjective experiences of survivors in processing and
making meaning of their traumatic past. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and
observation involving three female informants currently in early adulthood. The findings reveal
that the process of self-acceptance unfolds gradually and non-linearly, progressing through the
stages of denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, as conceptualized by Kubler-
Ross. Factors influencing self-acceptance include mindfulness, self-compassion, past experiences,
unconditional acceptance, and social support, aligning with Germer’s theoretical framework. The
study also identifies core aspects of self-acceptance such as developing a positive self-perception,
accepting personal flaws and past trauma, building healthy social relationships, and finding
renewed purpose in life. Moreover, the presence of family support, religious environments, and
community engagement significantly strengthen the recovery and acceptance process.
