Jihan Habibah, NIM.: 18104090081 Y1 - 2025/08/11/ N2 - The implementation of the independent learning curriculum in schools began with the emergence of problem in the education sector, where the rigid curriculum became a disadvantage in fancing the recovery period of learning. In implementing the independent learning curriculum in schools, there were many obstacles, especially at the beginning of its launch. This is particularly true for schools that apply Islamic-based learning, such as boarding schools, including Insan Mulia Boarding School. In the implementation of the independent curriculum, the role of the principal is crucial as the spearhead that determines the direction of learning in the school. Based on this issue, the researcher is interested in exploring the role of the principal in the implementation of the independent curriculum based on Islamic values. The purpose of this research is to deeply describe the role of the principal as a leader, manager, educator, and supervisor in integrating Islamic values into the independent learning curriculum. Additionally, this research also identifies the factors that support and hinder the principal's role in implementing the independent curriculum based on Islamic values in school learning. This research method uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used by the researchers include non-participant observation, interviews with the principal, vice principal, and teachers, as well as documentation. The data analysis used includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is supported by technique triangulation and source triangulation. The research findings indicate that a.) the role of the principal is crucial in determining the success of the implementation of the independence curriculum based on Islamic values. The principal acts as an educator, supervisor, and manager who ensures the integration of Islamic values runs parallel to the independence curriculum. b.) The principal leads by preparing annual school programs, providing training facilities and support for educators, and conducting periodic evaluations. In its implementation, the principal faces obstacles such as the facilities from the school and the available human resources not meeting the needs.
