Each stage of the wedding ritual is rich in symbols and noble philosophies passed down through generations. However, with the dynamics of time and the influence of modernization, there is a tendency among the younger generation to perform this tradition merely as a formality or ceremony, without understanding the substantial meaning contained within it. This phenomenon has the potential to erode the noble values of culture and the educational function of this tradition as a medium for character education. The purpose of this study is to explore the philosophical and educational values of Islam, as well as to examine the acculturation of culture and Islam in traditional Javanese weddings in the village of Sengonwetan. This research uses a qualitative approach with field research. Sociological and philosophical approaches are used as an analytical framework to understand the social context and deeper meaning behind the marriage ritual. Data collection is carried out through triangulation methods, namely participatory observation to directly observe the marriage procession, in-depth interviews, and documentation in the form of photos and field notes. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which includes data collection, data condensation (comprising the stages of selecting, focusing, abstracting, simplifying, and transforming), followed by data presentation and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, Credibility, Transferability, Dependability, Confirmability. The results of this study indicate that the traditional Javanese wedding process in Sengonwetan Serat Village has philosophical meaning and Islamic educational values, including: the value of faith, which strengthens belief in Allah SWT through the implementation of the marriage contract, prayers, and gratitude; worship values, reflected in the application of marriage law, the recitation of tahlil, and charity; and moral values, evident in polite behavior, respect for parents, mutual assistance, and social concern. Acculturation is seen in the adaptation of symbols and meanings of traditional ceremonies to align with Islamic teachings. However, this study also identified certain practices and symbols that contradict religious beliefs, such as the belief in calculating auspicious days (weton) as determinants of fate, and the use of offerings in certain stages of the ceremony, such as during the tarub and panggih rituals. These offerings generally consist of tumpeng rice, ingkung chicken, flowers, and incense, which some people believe can ward off evil, invite blessings, or honor the spirits of ancestors. Such practices are considered to contain elements of superstition and have the potential to lead to polytheism, so they need to be eliminated or reinterpreted to be in line with the principle of tawhid. This finding underscores that the preservation of traditions must be done selectively, retaining elements that align with Islam while purging the procession of practices that deviate from sharia teachings. date: 2025-07-16 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: id identifier: https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/72746/1/23204011007_BAB-I_IV-atau-V_DAFTAR-PUSTAKA.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/72746/2/23204011007_BAB-II_sampai_SEBELUM-BAB-TERAKHIR.pdf identifier: Trianita Nurhadiningtyas, NIM.: 23204011007 (2025) NILAI FILOSOFIS DAN NILAI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DALAM TRADISI PERNIKAHAN ADAT JAWA DI DESA SENGONWETAN, KECAMATAN KRADENAN, KABUPATEN GROBOGAN.
