"The phenomenon of increasing numbers of parents becoming migrant\r\nworkers in Karangpetir Village, Tambak District, Banyumas Regency has\r\ngiven rise to new dynamics in child-rearing patterns. This has triggered a\r\nshift in child-rearing patterns from parents to grandparents (grandparenting).\r\nThis shift often occurs due to parents' busy work schedules and family\r\neconomic pressures, but in the long term, it has the potential to lead to the\r\nphenomenon of fatherless, where children lose the emotional presence of a\r\nfather figure. This parenting pattern presents its own challenges due to\r\ndifferences in values, experiences, and age between grandparents and\r\nchildren, which can influence the child's character development. This issue\r\nis also related to the concept of ḥaḍānah in Islamic law, which emphasizes\r\nthe obligation to provide comprehensive care and protection for children to\r\nmeet their physical, spiritual, and moral needs. Therefore, this study focuses\r\non analyzing grandparenting practices in migrant worker families and how\r\nthe maṣlaḥah perspective assesses the transition of parenting roles from\r\nparents to grandparents.\r\nThis study uses a qualitative method with an empirical legal approach,\r\nwhich aims to describe the maṣlaḥah perspective on the transition of\r\nparenting patterns from parents to grandparents in migrant worker families\r\nin Karangpetir Village, Tambak District, Banyumas Regency. Primary data\r\nsources were obtained through interviews with children affected by\r\ngrandparenting and grandparents who practice grandparenting. Secondary\r\ndata sources were obtained from various written sources, including theories\r\nrelevant to this study. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and\r\nHuberman model through the stages of reduction, presentation, and\r\nconclusion drawing.\r\nThe research findings indicate that children of migrant workers face\r\nmultidimensional issues due to the absence of their parents, particularly their\r\nfathers. The impacts of this situation include emotional disturbances such as\r\nloneliness, jealousy, loss of an authoritative figure, and weak moral and\r\nspiritual guidance. This phenomenon can be categorized as fatherless, which\r\nindicates the non-fulfillment of the ḥaḍānah requirement in fiqh, the\r\nCompilation of Islamic Law (KHI), and the Child Protection Law. From the\r\nperspective of maṣlaḥah according to al-Ṭūfī, the involvement of\r\ngrandparents falls under the category of maṣlaḥah ḍarūriyyah, as it pertains\r\nto urgent needs in child protection. The practice of grandparenting also falls\r\nunder the category of maṣlaḥah that is of a muamalah nature. The role of\r\ngrandparents can also be understood as a form of implementing ḥaḍānah in\r\nfiqh, as it fulfills aspects of protection, care, and education. Their role\r\ncontributes to ḥifẓ al-dīn (preserving religion), ḥifẓ al-nafs (preserving the\r\nsoul), ḥifẓ al-‘aql (preserving the mind), ḥifẓ al-nasl (preserving offspring),\r\nand ḥifẓ al-mal (preserving wealth)."^^ .
