"This study aims to analyze the strategies of religious moderation\r\neducation at Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and to\r\nexamine its relevance to the concept of Risalah Islam Berkemajuan\r\npromoted by Muhammadiyah’s Central Board. The research background\r\nstems from the reality of growing extremism and intolerance threatening\r\nnational harmony, thus requiring the strengthening of religious moderation\r\nthrough formal pesantren-based education. Established in 1918, Madrasah\r\nMu’allimin, as Muhammadiyah’s cadre-forming institution, plays a\r\nstrategic role in instilling the values of religious moderation aligned with\r\nthe vision of Progressive Islam.\r\nThis research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data\r\ncollected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving\r\nschool leaders, teachers, dormitory supervisors, student activity managers,\r\nand students as informants. Data analysis was conducted through reduction,\r\npresentation, and conclusion drawing, with verification using source,\r\ntechnique, and time triangulation.\r\nThe findings reveal that the strategies of religious moderation\r\neducation at Mu’allimin are implemented through the integration of\r\nmoderation values into the formal curriculum (religious and general\r\nsubjects), dormitory life, extracurricular activities, and cadre programs such\r\nas Mubaligh Hijrah and community service. The moderation values\r\npracticed include national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and\r\nrespect for local wisdom. These findings demonstrate significant alignment\r\nwith the principles of Muhammadiyah’s Risalah Islam Berkemajuan, which\r\nemphasizes a moderate, rational, inclusive, adaptive, and universally\r\nbeneficial interpretation of Islam.\r\nThis study concludes that religious moderation education at\r\nMadrasah Mu’allimin is not only relevant but also represents a concrete\r\nmanifestation of Risalah Islam Berkemajuan at the secondary pesantren\r\neducation level. Recommendations are directed toward strengthening the\r\nmoderation curriculum, enhancing educators’ capacity, and replicating this\r\neducational model in other Muhammadiyah institutions to reinforce the\r\nfoundation of moderation in society."^^ .
