In Islamic Education (PAI), learning must instill Islamic values as a form of devotion to Allah Swt. In the digital era, educational transformation is essential for Generation Z, who are technology-oriented and demand adaptive, collaborative, and flexible approaches. This study aims to evaluate the influence of the hybrid learning model on improving the critical thinking skills of PAI students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. As a combination of face-to-face and online learning, this model is considered capable of addressing contemporary educational challenges and optimizing the learning process through interaction and digital access. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, using the Model Development Based (MDB) design in which quantitative methods serve as the primary approach and qualitative methods as the supporting approach. The sampling technique applied is non-probability sampling, resulting in 25 respondents from the Master of PAI program. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The research instruments consist of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using simple regression analysis, while qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Overall, this study produced four key findings. First, students have a positive perception of the hybrid learning model, although their understanding of the concept remains largely technical. Second, based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, the hybrid learning model does not have a significant influence onۚ theۚ improvementۚ ofۚ students’ۚ criticalۚ thinkingۚ skills,ۚ asۚ theۚ learningۚ processۚ remains reproductive rather than reflective or argumentative. Third, internal factors influencing the implementationۚ ofۚ theۚ hybridۚ learningۚ modelۚ includeۚ lecturers’ۚ readiness,ۚ students’ۚ digitalۚ literacyۚ levels,ۚ learningۚ motivation,ۚ andۚ disciplineۚ inۚ theۚ online environment, while external factors include technological infrastructure limitations such as internet connectivity and the lack of regulations supporting hybrid learning.
