The existence of a Special Assistant Teacher (Shadow Teacher) is very important in bridging the needs of children with the demands of learning in the classroom. However, there are still many Special Assistant Teachers (Shadow Teachers) who do not have the competencies according to the standards. This condition has an impact on the quality of inclusive education services and optimal children's involvement in the learning process. Therefore, this study was conducted to measure the extent to which the competence of Special Assistant Teachers (Shadow Teachers) affects the learning process in kindergarten. This study uses an ex-post facto quantitative method. The subjects of the study were 22 Special Assistant Teachers (Shadow Teachers) in 8 Kindergartens in Tembilahan District, Pekanbaru City. The data collection technique was carried out through questionnaires, and documentation, while the data analysis used normality tests, linearity tests, statictic descriptive, pearson correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis tests. The Pearson correlation value of 0.616 indicates a fairly strong and positive relationship between the two variables. In addition, the value of the determination coefficient (R²) was 0.379 or 37.9%. The results of the regression test showed a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05 and a regression coefficient value of 0.819. This, research shows that the competence of the Shadow Teacher has a significant effect on the learning process, and the higher the competence possessed by the Shadow Teacher, the better the quality of the learning process that takes place.
