Therefore, innovative, visual, and contextual learning materials are needed. This study aims to: (1) analyze the characteristics and quality of an AR-assisted encyclopedia based on expert evaluations; (2) implement the developed encyclopedia to enhance Grade V students’ cultural literacy and conceptual understanding of IPAS; and (3) examine its effectiveness in supporting IPAS learning at the MI/SD level. The research employed the ADDIE development model, comprising five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects included material experts, media experts, teachers, and Grade V students of State Islamic Elementary School 2 Sleman. The study utilized both qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and expert validations, which were analyzed descriptively. Quantitative data were collected through teacher questionnaires and pretest–posttest results, analyzed using paired sample t-tests and N-Gain with IBM SPSS 26. The findings indicate that the AR-assisted encyclopedia is thematic, integrates IPAS material with local environmental, social, and cultural contexts, and is equipped with AR markers that display 3D digital objects through the Unity application. Expert validation rated the product as "Valid with Revisions," and ten teachers gave an average score of 89.25% (categorized as "Excellent"). The product was implemented in Class V-B at State Islamic Elementary School 2 Sleman. The product was perceived as engaging, user-friendly, and aligned with the characteristics of Islamic Elementary School/Elementary School students. Effectiveness testing showed N-Gain scores of 65.43% for cultural literacy and 82.67% for conceptual understanding, indicating significant improvement. Thus, the AR-assisted encyclopedia is considered effective in enhancing both cultural literacy and conceptual understanding of IPAS among Grade V students. %Z Jamil Suprihatiningrum, S.Pd.Si., M.Pd.Si., Ph.D.
