"MODEL KOLABORASI ANTARA BADAN USAHA MILIK DESA (BUM DESA) DENGAN PONDOK PESANTREN DALAM MEWUJUDKAN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS DESA: STUDI DI DESA PABELAN SUKOHARJO"^^ . "Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the\r\nvillage level requires cross-institutional collaboration. However, in\r\npractice, such collaboration is often difficult to realize due to differing\r\norientations and interests among institutions. One institution with\r\nsignificant potential to build strategic partnerships is the Badan Usaha\r\nMilik Desa (BUM Desa, Village-Owned Enterprise), which focuses\r\non strengthening the village economy. Unfortunately, collaborations\r\nbetween BUM Desa and other institutions, such as pondok\r\npesantren (Islamic boarding schools), are rarely found. In fact, pondok\r\npesantren are socio-religious institutions with strong networks and\r\nsignificant influence within communities.\r\nA notable example of collaboration between a BUM Desa and\r\na Pondok Pesantren Modern Islam (PPMI) Assalam can be found in\r\nSukoharjo Regency. This study aims to analyze the collaboration\r\nmodel and explain the underlying reasons for the cooperation between\r\nBUM Desa and a pondok pesantren—two institutions with differing\r\norientations—in supporting the achievement of SDGs.\r\nThis research employs a qualitative approach with a case study\r\nmethod. Data were collected through interviews with BUM Desa\r\nmanagers, pondok pesantren leaders, village government officials,\r\nand community figures, as well as through observation and document\r\nanalysis. Data were thematically analyzed through data collection,\r\ncondensation, display, and conclusion drawing.\r\nThe findings reveal that collaboration between BUM Desa and\r\nPPMI Assalam in supporting the SDGs emerged from mutual needs—\r\nspecifically, BUM Desa required productive human resources, which\r\nPPMI Assalam could provide. This collaboration materialized through\r\nnine initiatives: four in the economic sector, three in the social sector,\r\nand two in the environmental sector.\r\nFour key aspects facilitated the collaboration: (1) initial\r\nconditions, (2) institutional design, (3) facilitative leadership, and (4)\r\ncollaborative dynamics (including trust, dialogue, and shared understanding). The collaboration between an economic entity (BUM\r\nDesa) and a religious entity (pondok pesantren) proves to be a viable\r\nmodel for inclusive and sustainable village development.\r\nThese findings support the Collaborative Governance theory of\r\nAnsell and Gash (2008), particularly regarding the importance of trust\r\nand facilitative leadership. The study also reinforces Dees’, J.G.\r\n(1998) Social Enterprise Theory, which emphasizes the role of social\r\nvalues in economic practice, and aligns with the Stewardship Theory\r\nof Davis et al. (1997), which views organizational actors as stewards\r\nof the common good. Furthermore, the collaboration model affirms\r\nTriyuwono’s (2006) Sharia Enterprise Theory, which integrates\r\nspirituality and social justice in enterprise governance (religious\r\nvalues).\r\nThis research contributes to the literature on community-based\r\ngovernance by incorporating a collaborative, cross-sectoral\r\nperspective—religious and economic—at the village level. It opens a\r\nnew space in village development studies, offering a contextually\r\nrelevant alternative approach to achieving the SDGs through local\r\nvalues and spirituality."^^ .
