%T ANALISIS PROGRAM PERLINDUNGAN SOSIAL BERBASIS KOMUNITAS (STUDI KASUS: LKS POS LANSIA HUSNUL KHOTIMAH DI DUSUN JETIS KULON KALURAHAN PACAREJO KAPANEWON SEMANU KABUPATEN GUNUNG KIDUL)
%X Elderly people are a group vulnerable to various psychosocial problems, including
declining physical health, social isolation, and the risk of depression and suicidal
behavior. Proper social protection efforts are needed to maintain the overall quality
of life of the elderly. This study examines the implementation of community-based
social protection programs through the Social Welfare Institution (LKS) Pos Lansia
Husnul Khotimah in Jetis Kulon Hamlet, Pacarejo Village, Semanu Sub-district,
Gunungkidul Regency. The program focuses on preventing psychosocial risks of
the elderly while also maintaining physical health, spirituality, institutional
financial independence, and food self-sufficiency through continuous community
interaction.
This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were
collected through in-depth interviews with managers, elderly participants, and
related parties, direct observation of activities, and documentation of the programs
conducted. Data analysis was carried out interactively through data reduction, data
presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested using source and method
triangulation.
The results show that the social protection programs implemented by LKS Pos
Lansia Husnul Khotimah significantly contribute to maintaining the holistic wellbeing
of the elderly. Interventions in physical health aspects include elderly
exercise, regular health check-ups, supplementary food provision, and elderly
classes. In the spiritual aspect, activities such as elderly TPA (Qur’an learning) and
religious gatherings strengthen inner peace and ego integrity. Institutional financial
independence is supported by productive economic enterprises such as lempeng
(cassava cracker) production and stingless bee honey cultivation, while food selfsufficiency
is achieved through nutrition gardens and catfish farming using the
budikdamber system. In addition to providing real benefits for meeting the basic
needs of the elderly, the program also creates social interaction spaces that reduce
loneliness, enhance self-esteem, and lower the risk of suicide among the elderly.
Thus, LKS Pos Lansia Husnul Khotimah can serve as a model of community-based
social protection that is adaptive, participatory, and sustainable.
