"This research delves into the ways in which Indonesia’s Muslim Generation Z\r\nconceptualizes, shapes, and enacts philanthropic practices within the\r\naccelerating currents of digital transformation and shifting social landscapes.\r\nThe inquiry centers on two mosque-based youth organizations that inhabit\r\nmarkedly different socio-spatial contexts: Remaja Islam Sunda Kelapa\r\n(RISKA) in Jakarta, situated in a fast-paced metropolitan environment, and\r\nKomunitas Pemuda Remaja Cinta Masjid (KPRCM) in Depok, rooted in a\r\nsuburban sphere characterized by tighter-knit communal ties. Guided by a\r\nqualitative descriptive design and a purposive sampling strategy, the study\r\ngathered data through multiple qualitative lenses: in-depth interviews capturing\r\npersonal viewpoints, participant observation tracing interactional dynamics in\r\nsitu, focus group discussions generating collective perspectives, and an\r\nanalysis of digital content formally curated by each community. The\r\ncombination of these methods allowed for a layered understanding that bridged\r\non-the-ground activities with the narratives and representations sustained in\r\nvirtual arenas.\r\nThe analysis uncovered a pronounced divergence between the two cases.\r\nRISKA illustrates a model of philanthropy seamlessly interwoven with digital\r\ninfrastructures—utilizing Islamic crowdfunding mechanisms and social media\r\nchannels not only for mobilizing resources but also for strengthening\r\ntransparency, broadening audience reach, and projecting a religious identity\r\nthat is both impact-oriented and performative in nature. In contrast, KPRCM\r\nretains a foundation in mosque-centered traditions, augmenting them with\r\nmodest digital tools such as WhatsApp groups and QR codes for coordination\r\nand reporting, while placing primary emphasis on face-to-face engagement,\r\ncollective solidarity, and the preservation of localized trust networks. Across\r\nboth contexts, motivations emerged as multilayered: adherence to religious\r\nprinciples, a sense of moral responsibility toward the welfare of the\r\ncommunity, and an ongoing negotiation of identity in both tangible and digital\r\ndomains. Collectively, the findings underscore that Muslim members of\r\nGeneration Z are not passive inheritors of Islamic philanthropic customs but\r\nactive agents of reinvention, crafting hybrid models that are more\r\ncollaborative, technologically attuned, and responsive to the sociogeographical\r\nspecificities in which they operate."^^ .
