"Fisherwomen in Bonang District, Demak Regency, face various issues related\r\nto gender relations, social stigma, violence, double burdens, and a lack of official\r\nrecognition for their profession. The limitations on women's roles as fishers stem\r\nfrom gender stereotypes that define fishers as male, despite the fact that coastal\r\nwomen play a crucial role in fishing, marketing, and processing activities in the\r\nfisheries sector. Against this backdrop, Masnuah, the head of Puspita Bahari,\r\nadvocated for the fulfillment of rights and official recognition of fisherwomen's\r\nemployment status as part of improving their social well-being. Therefore, this\r\nstudy aims to demonstrate the struggle against various forms of inequality, as well\r\nas the steps taken to address these inequalities and the impacts of these efforts.\r\nThis study employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data sources\r\nconsisting of primary and secondary data. Data collection was conducted through\r\nparticipant observation, interviews, and documentation. The author was directly\r\ninvolved in the field by participating in various activities of fisherwomen and\r\nPuspita Bahari members, such as training, group discussions, and internal\r\norganizational activities. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction,\r\ndata presentation, and conclusion drawing. In this research, Axel Honneth's\r\nRecognition Theory is used as a theoretical framework. Recognition Theory\r\nexplains the relationship of full recognition obtained through struggles in three\r\nmain domains of recognition.\r\nThe results of this study indicate that female fishermen of Puspita Bahari\r\nexperience various forms of disrespect in the form of violence, social stigma,\r\ndiscrimination, and patriarchal practices. Analysis using Axel Honneth's theory of\r\nrecognition of the struggle for recognition of female fishermen in Bonang Demak\r\nillustrates that the Puspita Bahari movement was born out of negative experiences\r\nin their social lives. These findings align with Honneth's three domains of\r\nrecognition: Love, Rights, and Solidarity. In the individual domain (love), it enables\r\nthe restoration of self-confidence and improves psychological well-being. In the\r\nlegal domain (rights), it strengthens the recognition of identity and the fulfillment\r\nof the rights of female fishermen. Meanwhile, the social realm (solidarity)\r\nencourages female fishermen to gain opportunities, support, and greater\r\nacceptance in community life."^^ . "2025-07-17" . . . .
