        abstract = {Currently, handphone is a common thing for all people all arround the world
as a standard for communication device. Therefore, companies who involved on the
handphone market will naturally increasing their produduct features in order to win
the market competition. The variability of these features sometimes make the
consumer confuse to decide which one is suitable for them. Then, there is a need for
developing a decision support system which able to give a recommendation for the
customer in choosing the handphone which suits on their need, desire and budget.
The method used in this decision making system are Analytical Hierarchy
Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal solusion
(TOPSIS). Each methods have their respective roles in order to produce the optimal
value in determining priorities perangkingan handphone that will be recommended to
consumers. AHP is used to determine the weighting of the criteria, then the results of
weighting the criteria of the AHP will be input in the calculation of TOPSIS that will
be used in determining priorities perangkingan handphone.
The result shows that the system can provide a handphone recommendation
that suits customer need, desire and budget.
