N2  - This research aims to find out how the role of Ngudi Kawruh Reading House in community empowerment in Onggopatran Hamlet, Srimulyo. Piyungan, Bantul. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. Then, the data validity test in this study used source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study can be concluded that: (1) TBM Rumah Baca Ngudi Kawruh organizes various activities as community empowerment, (2) Community empowerment carried out by Rumah Baca Ngudi Kawruh is empowerment in the fields of education, environment, and business, this can be seen from the activities carried out at Rumah Baca Ngudi Kawruh. The benefits felt from this community empowerment activity are improving community education, and increasing accessibility. (3) The obstacle of TBM Rumah Baca Ngudi Kawruh in carrying out the sustainability of the community empowerment process is the lack of human resources to manage and assist activities at TBM Rumah Baca Ngudi Kawruh.
