The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, using snowball sampling techniques. Data validity was tested using credibility tests such as source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The results of this study indicate that book arrangement on shelves at Janabadra University Library in Yogyakarta is organized based on academic programs rather than the classification number 000. The arrangement of collections for information retrieval at Janabadra University Library plays an important role in the search process, as users typically inquire with staff or directly visit the shelves. However, the research also found that the library does not yet have an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) tool. Recommendations for Janabadra University Library to enhance the shelving process for information retrieval include improving processing activities in the library?s technical services, expediting the implementation of OPAC to assist users in meeting their information needs, and providing library education for new students.} }
