Translation is a series of analytical actions on a source text to be translated into an equivalent target text to produce a good translation that readers can understand. Translation is not just changing words but also transferring the similarity of the culture of the original language to the culture of the target language. One of the literary works that uses the translation method in its process is a movie. In this research, researchers used the Negeri 5 Menara movie. The researcher chose this object because the characters use many sentences that only exist within the Islamic boarding school and have no meaning in English. This research aims to describe the translation process carried out on the source text into the target text to produce an equivalent translation and identify what translation methods were used. This research uses the translation method proposed by Newmark (1998). Researchers use qualitative methods to describe the objectives of this research. The data that has been collected is analyzed by comparing the Indonesian dialogue with its English translation. This research shows 550 dialogue data from the six main characters, and eight methods are used to translate the dialogue into English. The research results showed that translators used several methods, namely: literal translation of 180 data (32.7\%), communicative translation of 135 data (24.5\%), adapted translation of 68 data (12.4\%), free translation of 58 data (10.4), faithful translation was 55 data (10.0\%), semantic translation was 25 data (4.5\%), word for word translation was 20 data (3.6\%), and idiomatic translation was 9 data (1.6\%).} }
