        abstract = {This research explores the presentation of factual information and the influence of genre and ideology in media reports on alleged fraud in Indonesia's 2024 presidential election, focusing on editorials by The Jakarta Post and ABC News. Using Martin and White's (2005) Appraisal framework, this research analyzes how these media outlets use language, tone and framing to shape public perception. Through descriptive qualitative methods, the analysis reveals different ideological perspectives and evaluative strategies in the two texts. The results of the analysis show that all appraisal tools are used in the text, including attitude, engagement, and graduation. The Jakarta Post editorial contains 100 evaluative language instances, with 36\% being attitude devices (3\% affects, 19\% judgments, 14\% appreciations), 35\% engagement devices (2\% monoglosses, 33\% heteroglosses), and 29\% graduation devices (16\% force intensifications, 9\% quantifications, 4\% focus sharpenings). In contrast, the ABC News article has 47 instances, where attitude devices make up 36.17\% (10.64\% affects, 25.53\% judgments, no appreciations), engagement devices 23.40\% (2.13\% monoglosses, 21.28\% heteroglosses), and graduation devices 40.43\% (8.51\% intensifications, 23.40\% quantifications, 8.51\% focus sharpenings). On genre analysis, both texts belong to the factual genre with details of the Jakarta Post editorial corresponding to hortatory exposition, and ABC news belonging to News item. On ideology analysis, Jakarta Post leans towards a protagonist and right-leaning ideology, while ABC News adopts an antagonist and left-leaning ideology.}
