%T A SPIRITUAL VALUES ANALYSIS OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE IN SECRET OF DIVINE LOVE

%X Figurative language is included in the study of stylistics. Language has a very important and noble role, language has a message of beauty while containing meaning. This study aims to analyze the figurative language of a nonfiction book entitled “Secret of Divine Love” and analyze the spiritual value of the figurative language found. This research uses qualitative method with text analysis approach. Perrine's theory (1987) and spiritual value theory were used for data analysis in this study. The results of this study show that there are 185 figurative languages which are divided into: 80 metaphor, 16 simile, 27 personification, 6 imagery, 3 metonymy, 34 symbol, 12 hyperbole, 5 paradox, 2 irony, and 0 synecdoche. Meanwhile, the spiritual values found are divided into four, namely 99 religious values, 49 moral values, 7 truth/empirical values, and 33 beauty values. This study found that this book contains many metaphors and has a total of 80 metaphorical figurative language findings. The most common spiritual value found was religious value. The research highlights the wider implications of the book “Secret of Divine Love” as a valuable contribution to the understanding of Islamic spirituality and its universal message of love, compassion and self-discovery.
