abstract: Language is a tool for communicating and exchanging information. It is undeniable that language is also a very important and inseparable part of human life, especially from its social aspects. Language continues to develop and change. These developments and changes are caused by social and cultural changes. The rapid development of language in the field of science has resulted in language contact in social, cultural and other fields that can be influenced by other languages. Finally, it is inevitable that an interference process occurs, namely languages that influence each other.
With the formulation of the problem: 1). What are the forms of interference of Indonesian language on Arabic in the conversation of female students of Gontor 4 female? 2). What are the factors that cause interference of Indonesian language on Arabic in the conversation of female students of Gontor 4 female? The process of collecting answers to this study uses qualitative descriptive methods and listening and speaking methods. The author also uses tapping and note-taking techniques in data collection and uses the method of match analysis which aims to find out and analyze what forms of interference occur in the Arabic language conversations of students Gontor 4 female and what factors underlie the interference.
The results of this study are the emergence of several forms of interference in terms of phonology, morphology, lexicology, syntax, and semantics. In addition, the interference occurs because it is influenced by several things including linguistic and non-linguistic factors. Linguistic factors include aspects of the language itself, then for non-linguistic factors come from the boarding school environment such as for joking, lack of mastery of vocabulary and rules from other languages, because of regulations, fear of punishment and carrying over habits from the first language or mother tongue.
